With a stu\u00addio ex\u00adhi\u00adbi\u00adtion on the Rus\u00adsian avant-garde, the Mu\u00adse\u00adum Lud\u00adwig is pre\u00adsent\u00ading re\u00adsearch on the au\u00adthen\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adty of works in its col\u00adlec\u00adtion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to Peter and Irene Lud\u00adwig, in ad\u00addi\u00adtion to Pop Art and Pi\u00adcas\u00adso, the Rus\u00adsian avant-garde is a core fo\u00adcus of the mu\u00adse\u00adum\u2019s col\u00adlec\u00adtion, with more than 600 works from the pe\u00adri\u00adod be\u00adtween 1905 and 1930, in\u00adclud\u00ading some 100 paint\u00adings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ques\u00adtion\u00adable au\u00adthor\u00adship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For vari\u00adous rea\u00adsons, works of ques\u00adtion\u00adable au\u00adthor\u00adship have cont\u00adin\u00adu\u00adal\u00adly found their way in\u00adto pri\u00advate and in\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adtio\u00adn\u00adal col\u00adlec\u00adtions. Works by Rus\u00adsian avant-garde artists were coun\u00adter\u00adfeit\u00aded par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar\u00adly of\u00adten (due to their de\u00adlayed re\u00adcep\u00adtion af\u00adter Stalin\u00adism, for in\u00ads\u00adtance). Even re\u00adcent\u00adly, paint\u00adings from this era that have turned out to be inau\u00adthen\u00adtic have been pre\u00adsent\u00aded in mu\u00adse\u00adums. The Mu\u00adse\u00adum Lud\u00adwig is al\u00adso af\u00adfect\u00aded and is cur\u00adrent\u00adly sys\u00adte\u00adm\u00adat\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly in\u00advesti\u00adgat\u00ading its col\u00adlec\u00adtion of paint\u00adings with the help of in\u00adter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adn\u00adal scho\u00adlars. This re\u00adsearch rep\u00adre\u00adsents an im\u00adpor\u00adtant con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtion to the in\u00adter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adn\u00adal dis\u00adcourse on the Rus\u00adsian avant-garde. One goal is to iden\u00adti\u00adfy and distin\u00adguish in\u00adcor\u00adrect at\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtions in the mu\u00adse\u00adum\u2019s col\u00adlec\u00adtion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The meth\u00adods and find\u00adings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ex\u00adhi\u00adbi\u00adtion pre\u00adsents the meth\u00adods and find\u00adings. With twen\u00adty-sev\u00aden works by, or former\u00adly at\u00adtribut\u00aded to Ljubow Popowa, Kli\u00adment Red\u00adko, Niko\u00adlai Suetin, Ni\u00adna Ko\u00adgan, El Lis\u00adsitzky, and other artists, it pre\u00adsents art-his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcal and tech\u00adno\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal meth\u00adods for mak\u00ading artis\u00adtic au\u00adthor\u00adship and ques\u00adtion\u00adable at\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtions rec\u00adog\u00adniz\u00adable.
