Het mini-filmfestival dat vorig jaar een groot succes was keert terug naar De Nieuwe kerk. Dit jaar kozen de samenstellers voor het thema \u2019Faith in Cinema\u2019 dat aansluit bij de huidige tentoonstelling in de kerk die vertelt over de eeuwenoude en veelbewogen geschiedenis van het nationale monument. Tijdens de premi\u00e8re verzorgt een conservator van het EYE Filmmuseum de inleiding.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het filmfestival trapt af met de bekroonde film <em>The King\u2019s Speech (2010) <\/em>met in de hoofdrol Colin Firth die als de stotterende Britse King George VI op cruciale momenten het land toespreekt. Wanneer Engeland op 3 september 1939 de oorlog verklaart aan Duitsland zegt hij: \u2018If one and all we keep resolutely faithful to it, then, with God&#8217;s help, we shall prevail\u2019. &nbsp;Zeven films schitteren vier dagen lang op het witte doek. Van de viervoudig <em>Oscar<\/em> winnaar <em>Life of Pi<\/em> (2012) tot de spannende actieklassieker <em>Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade<\/em> (1989).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vanaf donderdag 27 februari t\/m zondag 2 maart. Op vrijdag 28 &nbsp;februari spelen de Britse satirische komedie <em>Monty Python\u2019s Life of Brian <\/em>(1979) en de Italiaanstalige drama <em>La Grande Bellezza <\/em>(2013). Op zaterdag 1 maart staan op het programma <em>The Name of the Rose<\/em>, een Europese productie uit 1986, en <em>Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade <\/em>(1989). Op zondag 2 maart draait eerst de nostalgische Disney musical <em>The Hunchback of Notre Dame <\/em>(1996), daarna schittert de bekroonde fantasiefilm <em>Life of Pi <\/em>(2012) op het doek.<br><br><em>Faith in Cinema<\/em> is een samenwerking tussen De Nieuwe Kerk, EYE Filmmuseum, Outdoor Cinema en Bora Bora Producties. Samen presenteren zij een prikkelend evenement dat doet onderdompelen in cinematografisch interpretaties van gebedshuizen, gemeenschap, spiritualiteit en religie.<br><br><strong>Programma en kaartverkoop<\/strong><br>De eerste film die wordt vertoond, <em>The King\u2019s Speech<\/em>, wordt ge\u00efntroduceerd door Rommy Albers.
