Each year thousands of professional press and documentary photographers from over one hundred countries submit tens of thousands of photos to the renowned annual World Press Photo Contest. The awarded images, including the World Press Photo of the Year, showcase the year\u2019s key moments in a snapshot, they address key matters across society at large, and shine a light on nature, resiliance, family and other topics that have captured the eyes and lens of photographers across the globe. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awarded stories will be shown to millions worldwide as part of World Press Photo\u2019s annual traveling exhibition in over 60 locations around the world – including the world premiere exhibition in Amsterdam at De Nieuwe Kerk (18 April – 8 August), plus London (31 May – 31 August), Berlin (6 June – 29 June), Vienna (12 September – 9 November), Budapest (10 September – 9 November), Mexico City (18 July – 28 September), Rio de Janeiro (27 May to 20 July), Montreal (27 August – 11 October), Jakarta (12 September – 11 October), Sydney (24 May to 6 July), and Rome (6 May – 8 June). Millions more will see the winning stories online via www.worldpressphoto.org<\/a> and associated social media channels. The world premiere of this major touring exhibition opens in Amsterdam on 18 April and runs until 8 August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winners of the 2025 World Press Photo Contest also receive a cash prize of up to \u20ac11,000, an invitation to the Winners\u2019 Program in Amsterdam from 14-17 May, and more. The Photo of the Year winner and both runners up will also receive FUJIFILM GFX cameras and lenses. Entries are judged first by six regional juries and winners are then chosen by a global jury consisting of the regional jury chairs plus the global jury chair, who this year is Lucy Conticello, Director of Photography, M Le magazine, Le Monde. 2025 is also the 70 year anniversary of World Press Photo and a full programme of events and exhibitions will be announced soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
